New and improved codeplug lookup is now live! Search by radio manufacturer under the DMRVA Codeplugs menu.
Help us help you! Increase traffic on your repeater or network by following these tips:
Maintain a repository of complete and accurate information about your repeater/network configuration, including frequencies, color codes, talkgroups, and their respective timeslot assignments. Keep this published and easily accessible, and update it as soon as changes are made. A simple talkgroup matrix worksheet is all we need.
Clearly state your preferences and policies regarding special system features, like text messaging, private calls, APRS, data applications, and closed/restricted talkgroups.
Let us know when something changes. We periodically review our information, but it's easy to overlook subtle changes on a large network.
Network operators: consistency is key. If every repeater on your network has a different talkgroup configuration or other access parameters, or if your talkgroup matrix is pointlessly complicated, there's a good chance we won't bother to build a codeplug for it. (Take a look at the Interstate network for an example of a clunky talkgroup setup. We almost didn't build this file, and if it gets any more complicated, we might drop support for that system.)
Our codeplugs offer up to 16 channels per repeater/zone for maximum compatibility. Don't try to offer every talkgroup under the sun; you'll overwhelm users (and us) in a hurry. If you have more than 16 talkgroups (including Echotest and Clear Timeslot) then we'll have to pick-and-choose which TGs to support -- just like you're forcing many of your users to pick which talkgroups to ignore. Less is more.
If you find an error in our data for your system or to make us aware of changes, send an email to codeplug-request@rats.net.
