Codeplug Versions

Codeplug packages are named with both a DMRVA talkgroup matrix version and a release date.

DMRVA Codeplugs

Major changes in each codeplug version can be found below.  This is not an exhaustive list of all changes in each update.  Our codeplugs are packaged as ZIP files which include a README file.  The README file includes a more detailed change log specific to that codeplug.  Most of our ZIP files include a date in the filename which is updated when corrections and other minor updates are made.

• DMRVA1.0  (very old) - pre-December 2023.  Assigned to all codeplugs created prior to the December 2023 DMRVA+HEARS partnership and talkgroup changes.  These codeplugs will contain many invalid/retired talkgroups.  Several member-contributed codeplugs use the DMRVA1.0 lineup.  Includes legacy DMRVA-maintained codeplugs.  All v1.0 codeplugs were long ago removed from this site.
  
  

• DMRVA2.0  (old) - December 2023.  Initial DMRVA+HEARS repeater lineup and talkgroup changes.  This was the first major change to talkgroup configurations on the DMRVA system in over a decade.
  
  

• DMRVA2.1 (old) - April 2024.  South Boston (SBO) frequency & color code changes.   Some DMRVA2.0 codeplugs included this change but did not get a new version number due to an oversight.
  
  

• DMRVA2.2 (old) - June 2024.  Adds new Goochland (GCH) zone in LTD and Full codeplugs.  Adds Portables (POR) to LTD codeplugs.
  
  

• DMRVA2.3  (old) - August 2024.  Adds Farmville (FVL) to Richmond Metro cluster and LTD codeplugs.  Drop Fredericksburg #1 (FB1), and temporarily drop Linden (LIN).  Remove WV Statewide from GCH zone.
  
  

• DMRVA2.4  (current LTD series)  - February 2025.  Adds Middlesex/Topping (MDX) zone to LTD and Full codeplugs.  Adds Franklin County/Thornton Mountain (FKN) zone to Full codeplugs.  South Hill (SOU) repeater frequency change.
  
  

• DMRVA2.5  (skipped) - March 2025.  Moves Farmville (FVL) out of the RVA Metro cluster and into Southside Metro with South Boston (SBO) and South Hill (SHL).  Since this really has no impact on our codeplugs aside from a minor labeling change from RVA Metro to SS Metro for 27500 on FVL, no codeplugs were reissued for this release.
  
  

• DMRVA2.6  (current Full and Moto440) - July 2025.  Adds new Norton/High Knob (NTN) and Honaker/Big A Mtn (HKR) repeaters.  Adds VA Tidewater and VA Peninsula to Lexington #2 (LX2).  Also includes change to Farmville (FVL) from v2.5.  No changes to LTD codeplugs in v2.5 or v2.6;  v2.4 is still valid for LTD files.

Specialty Codeplugs

Version numbering:  When there are only minor edits to the file, the minor version will be incremented, such as from v2.0 to v2.1.  When one or more new repeaters are included, or when there are significant changes to the talkgroup lineup, a new major version will be issued, such as from v2.1 to v3.0.

Most of these files will be updated every two years unless we are made aware of defects or significant system changes.
