We've de-cluttered quite a bit and our navigation has changed. Let us know if you can't find what you're looking for.
🥇 Multi-network US East Coast coverage
For select equipment with working CSV import/export, we have our DMR File Generator which makes CSV or Excel data files for direct import into OEM and third party CPSs. RATS members have access to our entire Virginia-focused channel library including the DMRVA network and several other systems from Maine to Florida.
A few radios require manual zone assembly: we supply the channels, you create the zones and put the channels in the right order. We'll give you a checklist and instructions.
🥈 Statewide DMRVA network coverage
We offer pre-built codeplugs for the popular Connect Systems CS750 and CS800D radios. These files include the full DMRVA network. They are ready to use on CS750 and CS800D radios, and they can be converted to support around 40 other UHF and dual/tri-band models using the free N0GSG DMR Contact Manager software.
A few models will require post-conversion cleanup -- we'll guide you through it. Coverage is limited to the statewide DMRVA+HEARS network of around 30 repeaters in Virginia.
🥉 Local coverage for challenging radios
For radios not supported by our DMR File Generator or N0GSG conversion, we offer a small assortment of LTD codeplugs. These include only the DMRVA repeaters in the Richmond area.
We also have a handful of user-contributed codeplugs for several radios and third-party CPS applications. The included channels and zones may vary but these can be a starting point for radios not otherwise supported by our project, and our version history information can be used to bring these files up to current spec.
If we don't support your model or if you want to get your hands dirty and build your own codeplug, we offer general DIY information to get you going.
Whether you use our DMR File Generator, N0GSG conversion process, a pre-built codeplug, or decide to DIY, use our test procedure to confirm proper setup with Echo Test and Call Watch.
Whichever method you use, the RATS codeplug team is here to help. Contact us at codeplug-request@rats.net for free technical assistance, no club membership required.
Our Specialty Codeplugs for Neighboring DMR Networks have been discontinued. You'll now find these zones in our DMR File Generator.
Our XPR7550e Master Codeplug has been discontinued and our old Motorola conversion process is no longer in use. CPS 2.0 users are much better-supported in our DMR File Generator.
Several pre-built codeplugs for third-party CPS applications have been removed as these radios and CPSs are now supported by the DMR File Generator.
So far, we've individually evaluated 364 radio+CPS combinations. Unfortunately, over 57% are impractical to use due to software defects, missing or broken data import/export, or because the manufacturer doesn't freely distribute the programming software. A majority of the other 43% are covered by our DMR File Generator, CS750/CS800D and N0GSG Conversion, or a pre-built LTD codeplug.
Lack of import/export doesn't mean you can't build your own codeplug, though -- it'll just be more tedious and time-consuming than some other models. Check out our DIY information and feel free to contact us at codeplug-request@rats.net if you need help.
